There Are Too Many Things That "TICK ME OFF"

to put into just one post, but after watching last night's debate...this has got to be my #1...

~~~
I thought Sarah Palin did a wonderful job in the debate. Alot of people predicted that she would fail and fail miserably. She surprised everyone and like I knew she would...held her own against a seasoned Washington DC Political Insider.
So, it just ticks me off how the press (and the Hollywood Elite) keep talking about how horrible she is...how she lost the debate...how she was too "folk-sy"...how awful it would be if she became Vice President...that it is like a "BAD DISNEY MOVIE"!?!? If that is the case, why don't they move to Canada? And speaking of moving out of our Wonderful Country, are they not the same people that said pretty much the same thing when W was running for re-election? Why didn't they honor their word and move?
Also, I had mentioned in a previous post about how I like to learn about the candidates. In that line of thought, this needs to be mentioned. Before last nights debate, I had not done alot of research on Biden. After his heartfelt comments about "knowing what it is like to be a single parent" and "leaning over the bed of an injured child, praying that they will live"...I had to research him further.
Did you know that his wife and 3 children were involved in a serious car accident shortly after he won his first election? I didn't. His young wife had taken the children to pick out a Christmas tree and they were hit by a large truck as they pulled onto the street. The wife and 13 month old daughter were killed. His two sons were critically injured and hospitalized for many months. He immediately tried to resign his position, but was talked out of it. So for countless months, he rode the train 1 1/2 hours each way to work so that he could be home each night to sit by the bedside of his injured boys. WOW...
But in closing, I just had to include this photo of Sarah and her beautiful little boy.
She is my Mommy Hero!
Scarlett, you're so right. Last week when McCain & Biden had their debate it was basically thought to be a tie, but they said it was Obama who needed to prove himself, so that meant he really "won."
Well, this time many thought it was a tie, and yet it was Sarah who needed to prove herself and she did, but they didn't do their logic from last week, they made it a Biden "win." Lol. They are just too predictable for words.
She did a fantastic job for someone in the huge national spotlight for only 5 weeks sharing the stage with a 30 year member of the senate. Quite an accomplishment.
I thought Palin did so much better than the press predicted she would, but I have to say that the folksy thing did really bother me.
I did know about Joe Biden's family. Such a sad story. It doesn't make me like him, but I feel for him. No one should have to go through what he and his family have endured.
Did you see Piper Palin carrying around her little brother after the debate? I was freaking out...she had him hoisted over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes. It looked so funny.
Hit the nail on the head and couldn't agree with you more! Love the post
Did you know that Joe Biden is suspending his campaign activity for a few days...his mother-in-law has passed away. Can you imagine what his wife must feel like right now? She will be in a position where she needs to be there to support her husband, but she will be in the depths of some of the deepest grief imaginable, the loss of a mother. Perhaps his history of dealing with loss will make him a particularly strong support for her at this time.
"If that is the case, why don't they move to Canada?"
So if we don't like the direction America is headed in, we're supposed to move? Only those who like McCain and Palin should stick around? How patriotic of you. I'm sure in the eight years of the Clinton presidency I couldn't have found one republican who disagreed with Clinton's policies or even just hated the man personally, could I?
I am SO sick of the argument that "love America or leave it" - I love my country but it doesn't mean I should shut my mouth if I disapprove of something. Palin is not qualified to be VP, in my opinion. I think it's my right to say it without having to pack my bags and leave.
Dear Anonymous,
You have misunderstood my comment about "move to Canada". This is in reference to all the people who said they would move to Canada if George W. Bush was re-elected. I was only quoting their words back towards them. Alot of them are making the same types of complaints against McCain and Palin.
I agree with you that you should not shut your mouth if you don't agree with something. That is one of the many things that makes our Country so wonderful. We have the freedom to speak our minds without fear of retribution from the government.
But I do have this question for you...
If you do not thing that Palin is qualified to be VP, why do you think that Obama is qualified to be President? He has less political experience than her. Does the fact that he is a man make him more qualified? He is a Junior Senator from Illinois that assumed office on January 5, 2005 while she is a Governor of Alaska who started her political career in 1992.
(On a side note...and this is my personal opinion...if these are your beliefs and you feel so strongly about them...why do you hide behind an Anonymous post? Just wondering...)
To anonymous, you sound very articulate. Of course you are entitled to your opinion. We welcome it.
Why not post under your true identity? Just curious.
